Meet the Founder
Alhamd Ashino was founded by Najat Ansah, whose journey with African
craftsmanship began at a very young age. At just 10 years old, Najat started
creating handmade pieces including beaded bags, necklaces, and jewelry for her
peers and teachers. What began as a simple passion quickly grew into something
more meaningful.
Her first inspiration came from her mother, who taught her the art of
creating African crafts. Through those early moments of learning and creating,
Najat developed not only a skill, but a deep appreciation for the beauty,
patience, and cultural significance behind every handmade piece.
As she grew, so did her vision. Najat saw an opportunity to turn her
passion into a brand that could share African artistry with a wider audience
while also creating impact. This led to the creation of Alhamd Ashino, a brand
rooted in heritage, creativity, and purpose.
Today, Najat works closely with artisans and mothers in Ghana, providing
opportunities for them to use their skills to support themselves and their
families. Every piece created reflects not only craftsmanship, but also a story
of empowerment, resilience, and culture.
Through Alhamd Ashino, Najat continues to honor where she started while
building something that connects tradition with modern fashion. Each design is
a reflection of her journey, her roots, and her commitment to creating
something meaningful and lasting.
